The Wire is Brooks’ top of the line distance spike, and has set the stage for their Track and Field product by its attention to detail and performance. The upper is synthetic mesh with a conforming fit, thanks to welded overlays and internal structure, which effectively holds the foot over the four spike plate.

The full-length midsole offers protection for the multi-lap races, while working well with the resilient surface of synthetic tracks. The spike plate extends from the toe into the arch, stiffening the forefoot, with a 4 spike configuration for efficient grip of the track. The heel and forefoot also feature a TPU sharkskin layer interspersed by toughened foam, light and durable in the process. The secure fit, efficient though minimal plate, and very light feel make the Wire 4 a distance spike worth serious consideration.
